There are just a few things you need to know when signing up
International viewers are of course unable to use Netflix by default so make sure you have your playmoTV account and you are correctly linked to playmoTV. The green indicator on top of this page will tell you if you’ve done your job correctly. If you haven’t signed up with playmoTV, then do it now by clicking here. It’s free while in beta.
Setting up on netflix.com
Your first step is creating your Netflix-account. In this first step you only need to provide your email address and choose a password. After this you will be forwarded to their payment part.
The first month will be free. While you still need to provide your credit card details you can always cancel before your first month expires. Our beta users have reported successfully using their domestic credit cards when signing up with Netflix but for those who are unable to use their cards the pre-paid virtual VISA card from Entropay is an option.
A recent addition to the sign-up process is they ask you for your Zip Code. It needs to be a valid US Zip Code so you can either search online for a valid Zip Code or use the one most people remember… 90210
After this simple 2-step process your Netflix account is ready for your movie night.

signed up and on top of the banner I am green. I signed up with netflix and when I go on your site to watch site and punch on Netflix or Hulu it does not connect to chosen sites. Only blank browser. Earlier this evening the Hulu site worked ok ?
It’s not you it’s me :) I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. We had a problem with a server which is not yet covered by a secondary server upon a failure like this. Our highest priority for the beta is stability. There is a lot to do but day by day things improve a little (even though this is the longest down period we have had).

Just make sure you have first successfully changed you DNS settings according to the setup you have. The indicator on top of this page tells you if you are correctly linked to playmoTV. You also need to be logged in on playmoTV for this to work. Let me know if this continues to be a problem.

Thanks for the heads up. Netflix added 2 new servers responsible for the signup process which we were unaware of. This has now been fixed. You may need to close your browser (and even restart).

Your service is a nice idea, but this specific thing stops it from being usable. In detail: I managed to sign up for your service, I am able to watch the free shows e.g. on Hulu (which is cool). However I am unable to sign up for a real hulu pro or netflix account. The credit card cannot get accepted with a fake american ZIP code (though it exists in the US). Also I am not able to use paypal. When trying to log into my paypal account (both from netflix and hulu) I get an error “enter a valid email” and then in the email field (which I correctly entered) it says XXX%40YYY.com, i.e. it encoded the “@” as “%40″ which obviously doesnt work. Therefore your service is nice but unfortunately not really useful as long as this bug persists on the 3rd party site. Sorry. Any suggestions? Using entropay is not an option (5% on any cent I put on, cmon that’s a massive rip-off!) and paypal doesnt seem to work either…
I have the same problem. When I create the “fake” US based Apple ID I need to login to the Netflix service on my Apple TV, I need to put in my credit card which does not work. I’ve already registered a US address as an alternative billing address on my credit card (and that does work for most things online) it doesn’t work with Apple. Their credit card check fails me and I cannot log in to the Netflix service on my Apple TV using my Apple ID.
What do you guys suggest I do?
Hey Sigurdur and sorry for the late reply. The ability to use your Apple ID to pay for your Netflix subscription is a relatively new one. Most of our users subscribe directly to Netflix by going to Netflix’ web site (on a computer linked to playmoTV) and signing up. Most non-prepaid (a.k.a. normal) credit cards are accepted on their website.

I have one problem: when accessing netflix.com, it says that it’s not available in my country. So, how can I setup my account? Should I use the likes of hide my a** or should I just set it up using the Apple TV itself?
No, you should just need to follow the step on our Setup (http://playmo.tv/setup) page. Now that you have signed up for the playmoTV trial you have 7 days to test it. If you have any problems let us know.
Yeah, sorry for not paying attention. I set up my mac (the light is green in the header of playmo.tv) and now I can access netflix and hulu. However, hulu does not accept paypal payments from non-US accounts and I don’t know what to do. If I enter a fictional US address and my Romanian credit card details I’m not sure if my bank will authorize payments.

Netflix is one of the few that allows non-US cards. For Hulu Plus you will need to purchase from someone like http://www.buyfrompowerseller.com

I have a peruvian netflix account. Do I need to set up a new US account now that I have playmotv, or will I be able to use the US account just by adding the zip code to my account info?
As for Pandora, when I try to download the app, the iTunes Store tells me it’s not available in the Peruvian store. Do I also need to reboot my iTunes account?
