What is BBC iPlayer?

BBC iPlayer is the place where you can watch all BBC programmes online. It offers both live and on-demand content without advertising and is has apps on all the major platforms.

We have a lot of British expats that live outside of the UK that enjoy access to the service via the playmoTV DNS gateway.

I wanna access BBC iPlayer now! What do I need to do?

If you are a playmoTV DNS user you can access BBC iPlayer outside the UK (as a matter of fact anywhere in the world), as long as you configure your device to use our DNS servers, and your location is authenticated by our system.

If you’re not a playmoTV DNS user then you need to do the following (existing users linked to our service can go to step 3):

  1. Sign up for a playmoTV DNS account (takes less than a minute if you sign up via Facebook)
  2. Link your computer or device to the playmoTV gateway so we can help you access BBC iPlayer.
  3. Sign up for a free BBC iPlayer account at their website. Yes, it’s that easy!

Does playmoTV DNS come with a BBC iPlayer account?

No, playmoTV DNS only helps you unblock access to BBC iPlayer. We assume that you either have a BBC iPlayer account, or you will sign up for one after you sign up for playmoTV.  However, unlike many of the services we support, BBC iPlayer is completely free, so having a BBC account is a no-brainer.
