What is Sling TV?
Sling is an American live TV service, offering packages from $25/month and aimed at cordcutters. As such, Sling is available to its users without a contract, so you can cancel anytime.
Sling TV is owned by Dish Network, a US television provider. The service was launched in 2015 at CES, and is the first real live TV service for cordcutters. The service has about 2.4 million subscribers (numbers from February 2019).
Sling TV is famed for their “a la carte” offer, which means that instead of paying $40-50/month for a large selection of channels, most of which you never watch, you get a skinny bundle starting at $25, and then you can add to that bundle with program add-ons (Sports Extra, News Extra, Kids extra etc.)
If you visit https://www.sling.com/channels you can see a list of the channels available, and what package the channel you select belongs to. That way, you’ll see that CNN is included in both the Sling TV Orange starting bundle and the Sling TV Blue starting bundle.
I wanna access Sling TV now! What do I need to do?
If you are a playmoTV DNS user you can access Sling TV outside the US (as a matter of fact anywhere in the world).
If you’re not a playmoTV DNS user then you need to do the following (existing users that are linked can go to step 3):
- Sign up for a playmoTV DNS account (takes less than a minute if you sign up via Facebook)
- Link your computer or device to the playmoTV gateway so we can help you access Sling.
- Sign up for Sling at their website. Yes, it’s that easy!
Does playmoTV DNS come with a Sling account?
No, playmoTV DNS only helps you unblock access to Sling TV. We assume that you either have a Sling TV account, or you will sign up for one after you sign up for playmoTV.
